.. _ribbon_motion_control: Motion Control =============== .. image:: ../images/en/MotionControlRibbon.png The **Motion Control** ribbon menu is used to specify the control of a simulated rigid body. - **Dynamics:** The rigid body will be affected by forces/gravity (default). - **Static:** The rigid body will have zero velocity, will not be affected by any forces and have infinite mass. Suitable for stationary objects such as a ground. - **Kinematics:** The rigid body will an infinite mass and will not be affected by any forces; however it can have a velocity. The motion control of a rigid body can also be set in the :ref:`Rigid Body Properties ` and from the :ref:`simulation_structure` view. ----------------------------------------- Effect of Motion Control on Joint status ----------------------------------------- The :ref:`joint_status` of a joint might change when you alter the motion control of any of its attached rigid bodies. A joint requires that it is attached to at least one body with motion control **Dynamics** or **Kinematics** in order to be enabled.
